I understand that therapists have very unique and individual therapeutic styles. There are a variety of approaches that can be utilized in therapy. My goal is to provide each client an opportunity to identify the problems and the goals and I will share with you my approach and my recommedations. I welcome the opportunity to talk with you on the phone to answer any questions you have prior to scheduling your initial session. My approach to therapy is insight oriented and depth oriented. I strive to help each client identify the underlying developmental and emotional issues that are contributing to their distress. We work together as a team the address those underlying issues and make developmental changes that support life long change.
When you arrive, please have a seat in our waiting room. At your appointment time, I will greet you and bring you to my office. I will invite you to share your concerns and your wishes for therapy at this point. I will share my impressions and recommendation and if you feel comfortable regarding moving forward, you will be rescheduled to return so we can begin our work together.

Yes I can. Relationships exist on a continuum , and ending a relationship and moving on is also a relationship issue. This can be one of the best times in life to begin therapy. It can be such a gift to allow yourself the time and space to grieve the end of a relatioship, get clarity and understanding about yourself and move forward in creating the types of relationships that you desire. Because of my own journey in life, I greatly value this work.
Yes, therapy can be beneficial to the individual who is having relationship problems. While we are not able to do couples therapy, we can help you understand the relationship problems better and develop the ability to relate to your loved ones in a healthier, more effective way.
Discovering infidelity is typically a very painful and traumatic event for a spouse. It usually causes a variety of very intense emotions for both partners and the relationship can usually benefit from the assistance of a licensed marriage therapist who specializes in infidelity recovery. I have found that many clients I have worked with over the years have not only recovered from the pain of infidelity, but have thrived afterwards. I do not bill insurance companies, however, at your request I will provide you with a statement that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please be aware that submitting a super bill for reimbursement carries a certain amount of risk, as we cannot control how your information is used once submitted.
Not all therapeutic services are reimbursable; it is your responsibility to verify the specifics of your coverage.
Insurance reimbursement is typically based on "medical necessity", often requiring a psychiatric diagnosis. Because HCS specializes in relationship based psychotherapy, I often do not assign psychiatric diagnosis in my treatment. Contact your insurance provider to determine if they will reimburse you directly for the out-of-network services you are seeking.
The easiest way to schedule is to click the schedule appointment button. Create your profile first, and you will have 24 hour access to the calendar. HCS now requires credit card information on file at the time of scheduling your initial appointment. Your information will be stored confidentially and will not be charged, unless the appointment is missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours notice.
Congratulations on getting scheduled for your first appointment! Once you get scheduled on the online scheduler, I will give you a call to get more information about the reason for your visit, answer questions, and share more information about HCS. You will receive an email with a link to the online client forms. Please complete the electronic forms prior to your first appointment. It will allow me to have a better understanding of you and your needs and for us to determine it we are a good fit.
Please make all attempts to keep your scheduled appointments. When an appointment is scheduled, it is reserved for that client at the exclusion of others who may be waiting to see the therapist. Since this practice is fee for service, the late cancellations of an appointment my result in a loss of income for the therapist. If you must cancel, please give a minimum 24 hours notice so that the appointment time may be given to another client. If notice is given less that 24-hours you will be charged the full fee. If you should arrive late for a scheduled session, you will be seen for the remaining portion of your reserved time. I will make every effort to see a client on time, however, in some unusual circumstances you may have to wait before being seen. In the event that I am running late, you will still be seen for the entire session.
